Welcome to Grassroots Client News !

As an approved client of Grassroots.org's Free Hosting
Services you are receiving this new monthly newsletter to
keep you informed of the latest news with Grassroots Client
Services and other issues related to operating your
nonprofit organization.

If others at your organization would like to view this
newsletter, please forward this copy and have
them subscribe to the newsletter.  (Subscription and
unsubscription instructions are available in the
Administration section at the bottom of this newsletter.)

We also publish a consumer-oriented newsletter called

NEW: Legal Consulting Services

We are pleased to announce that Grassroots.org will now
offer legal consulting services to nonprofit organizations
at no cost.  (Your organization does not need to have 501(c)
3 status, but you will need to provide background
information on your organization and its mission.) These
services will be provided by staff at Grassroots.org.

Qualified organizations will be eligible to receive limited
assistance with incorporation, application for tax-exempt
501(c)(3) status with the IRS, general employment, tax and
risk management concerns, and other various other areas as
demand rises and the program evolves.  Similar to Grassroots
Hosting clients Grassroots Legal clients must include the
Grassroots banner at the top of their web site.

Note: It is not our intention to give legal advice. The
consulting services offered provide organizations with legal
information, but not legal advice. In this context, it
should be noted that our staff does not presently handle any
cases, have any clients, nor charge for legal work.

Hosting Services

Your free web hosting account includes 100 MB of file space
and 5 free mailboxes.  Additional resources and other
services, such as increased file space and mailing list
services (for distributing announcements or newsletters by
e-mail), are also available a discount price for Grassroots
Hosting Clients.

If you need additional services or require technical help
with your hosting account, just e-mail TierraNet at
support@tierra.net or call (877) TIERRA-1 .

Getting Your Site Designed

If you need assistance with creating or modifying your site,
our partner, X3O - http://www.x3o.com - is offering a low-
cost option that will get your site designed and developed
with a professional look.

Multiple Domains

If you already have a developed site that uses
Grassroots.org hosting, your organization owns at least one
domain that points to your web site.  You may also want to
buy additional domain names (names with different extensions
or similar names).  For example, if you own and use the
domain name GiveToCharity.org you should consider purchasing
GiveToCharity.com and Give2Charity.org and using domain
forwarding to automatically push direct traffic from those
secondary domains to your main site.

Need Software?

Registered US and Canadian nonprofits are able to purchase
software at a reduced price from TechSoup -

Stock, your organization can purchase steeply discounted
software and software licenses from major companies,
including Microsoft, Macromedia, Lotus, eTapestry, and
Intuit.

Discussion Forums

Exercise your freedom of speech !!!

All of our sites include discussion forums which are easily
accessible through the site's main page.  The forums are a
great way for you to help and encourage others, to allow
others to learn more about you and your organization and to
build relationships with others in the same field of
interest.

Free Web Hosting for Nonprofit Organizations

As you know, registered nonprofit organizations in the
United States or Canada are eligible to receive free web
hosting at Grassroots.org. Please pass the word along to
people you know at other nonprofit organizations who would
be interested in receiving free web hosting.  To qualify,
the site must be non-religious, must not be politically
affiliated, and the organization must supply proof of their
501(c)3 status (US) or their Charitable Registration Number
(Canada).
