Many of the goals will depend on the work of nonprofit organizations around the world to accomplish these goals. For more information also see these two pages:

Online Giving Trends

The recent tsunamis is South Asia showed an increasing reliance on Internet fundraising by relief agencies around the world. Rather than having to conduct massive mailings or purchase advertising in newspapers, television or radio these agencies were able to get the word out and collect money using the Internet. This allowed the organizations to collect money more quickly and to run their operations more effectively and efficiently. This article ( http://www.getactive.com/news__events/press-releases/tsunami-relief-011405.html ) highlights some of the recent trends that have emerged out of this recent crisis.
