SCWR emergency shelter, Peterson House, is a two-story, 3000 square foot home, providing safety and supportive services to adult women and their children who are victims of domestic violence. The shelter is open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year and is staffed around the clock by Housing Assistant/Client Advocates who have successfully completed 66 hours of training in domestic violence and sexual assault education and crisis intervention through Shasta College. Peterson House is equipped with 28 beds/3 cribs, 3 bathrooms available to residents, living room, dining area, large kitchen, a children’s playroom, 2 counseling rooms, a staff office, and a fenced play yard. The shelter location is kept confidential, yet it is close to local resources and services.
